You’ve got many reputable stats and started to explore a few pieces of a very complex and multi-dimensional conversation. But Alex, its not always what studies say. In order to fully articulate and understand the impact of agriculture, you have to experience all facets of it devoid of bias. You have to let go of preconceived ideas and your own biases and learn first hand. I did it three years ago. I learned soil health, I learned to raise meat and grow my own food. I fell in love with it and now do it as part of my business. Google can’t teach you most aspects Ag, nor can it weave together the web of its complexity. I continue to learn every day, and always change my opinions on how food and farming work as I get new information. There are two things I can say though, “If people want to see changes in Agriculture (or the environment) they need to curb their consumption. It’s peoples’ desire for more, fast and now that drives current models. Also, people need to be willing to pay the price for those changes as the cost associated with the changes are high. If you want better quality, it costs. And most people won’t do either of these things.”
